नाथ न रथ नहिं तन पद त्राना | केहि बिधि जितब बीर बलवाना ||
सुनहु सखा कह कृपानिधाना | जेहिं जय होइ सो स्यंदन आना ||
सौरज धीरज तेहि रथ चाका | सत्य सील दृढ़ ध्वजा पताका ||
बल बिबेक दम परहित घोरे | छमा कृपा समता रजु जोरे ||
ईस भजनु सारथी सुजाना | बिरति चर्म संतोष कृपाना ||
दान परसु बुधि सक्ति प्रचण्डा | बर बिज्ञान कठिन कोदंडा ||
अमल अचल मन त्रोन समाना | सम जम नियम सिलीमुख नाना ||
कवच अभेद बिप्र गुर पूजा | एही सम बिजय उपाय न दूजा ||
सखा धर्ममय अस रथ जाकें | जीतन कहँ न कतहुँ रिपु ताकें ||

महा अजय संसार रिपु जीति सकइ सो बीर |
जाकें अस रथ होइ दृढ़ सुनहु सखा मतिधीर ||

When Rama went to fight with Ravan, Ravan came up with full preparation. Vibhishan asked to Rama that Ravan has all the necessary things to fight with but you don’t have chariot, armor, and shoe. How will you win the Ravan? Ram said: listen Vibhishan! That chariot is different that gives the win. Chivalry and patience are the wheels of that chariot. Truth and virtue are the strong flag and streamer. Power, discretion, self control the charity are the four horses that are joined with the forgiveness, mercy and evenness.

Prayer of god is the clever charioteer. Quietness is shield, satisfaction is sword. Donation is ax, wisdom is stormy power, and the science is strong bow. Soft and immovable mind is like quiver. Control of mind, nonviolence and regulations are the lot of arrows. Worship of the Brahmin and the teacher is the impermeable armor. There is no different way of win that has the chariot like this. He can win birth and death like enemy also.

जब श्री राम रावण से लड़ने पहुंचे तो रावण पूरी तैयारी के साथ रथ पर बैठ के आया | विभीषण ने राम जी से पूछा की कैसे रावण से जीतोगे ? आपके पास न तो रथ है, न कवच है और न जूते ही हैं | राम जी ने कहा: सुनो विभीषण ! जिससे जीत होती है वह रथ दूसरा ही है | शौर्य और धैर्य उस रथ के पहिये हैं | सच और सदाचार उसकी मजबूत ध्वजा और पताका हैं | बल, विवेक, दम ( अपने आप का वश में होना ) और परोपकार - ये चार उसके घोड़े हैं, जो छमा, दया और समता रूपी रस्सी से रथ में जोड़े हुए हैं | 

ईश्वर का भजन ही चतुर सारथि है | वैराग्य ढाल है और संतोष तलवार है | दान फरसा है, बुद्धि प्रचण्ड शक्ति है, विज्ञान मजबूत धनुष है | निर्मल और अचल मन तरकस के समान है | मन का वश में होना, अहिंसा और नियम - ये बहुत से बाण हैं | ब्राह्मण और गुरु का पूजन अभेद्य कवच है | इसके समान विजयका दूसरा उपाय नहीं है | ऐसा धर्ममय रथ जिसके हो उसके लिये जीतने को कहीं शत्रु ही नहीं है |

जिसके पास ऐसा रथ हो, वह वीर संसार ( जन्म - मृत्यु ) रूपी महान दुर्जय शत्रु को भी जीत सकता है |
